Dr. Mst. Rubina Aktar (Member, IEEE) is serving as an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Saidpur Cantonment, Nilphamari. She joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of EEE, BAUST, Saidpur, in 2020, and later she was entrusted with the position of Head of the Department in 2023. Before joining BAUST, she had working experience as an Assistant Professor in the Department of EEE at the Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT), Dhaka for more than 3 years. During her long journey of teaching career from 2012 to 2018 she was a Lecturer and from 2018 to 2022 she was serving as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Rubina received her B.Sc. degree in EEE from the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Rajshahi, Bangladesh in 2012 and M.Sc. degree in EEE from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2019. She received her Ph.D degree in EEE from RUET, Bangladesh, in 2023, focusing on advanced research in areas of mobile cellular communication such as 5G Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN). With her extensive knowledge and research experience, Mst. Rubina actively contributes to the field through publications and participation in academic conferences. Her research interests include wireless communication, energy-cost efficient C-RAN, 5G mobile network etc. Currently, She has 21 publications (10 journals and 11 conferences) in several reputed journals and IEEE international conferences. Dr. Rubina regularly reviews papers for renowned journals in his research field.
Dr. Rubina completed several training programs, workshops and attended seminars that included: Design and maintenance of Electrical System, Prospect on antenna research, Opportunities for Research and Pathways for Future Career in Power and Energy Sector, Electrical Engineering Professionals: Basic Aspects to Safeguard National Interest, etc.
Dr. Rubina usually takes theoretical and sessional courses on Power System, Communication and basic Electrical Engineering at the undergraduate levels. Till now, he has supervised several undergraduate theses. She is passionate about both teaching, research and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
