The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Saidpur, hosted a special workshop on “OBE Implementation for Science and Technology Related Curriculum”. Dr. Tanveer Saleh, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Autonomous Systems and Robotics Research Unit in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and Dr. Rubina Bahar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), both presented their practical experience in OBE-based curriculum development.
The workshop was inaugurated by Brig Gen Prof Dr. Engr. Md Lutfor Rahman (Retired), BAUST’s honourable vice-chancellor. He thanked the presenters and invited BAUST and their institutes to collaborate on future activities. Prof Dr. Enamaul Basher, Dean of Electrical and Computer Faculty, spoke about the importance of OBE-based systems in education and the initiatives taken by BAUST to incorporate OBE concepts into intra-departmental programs. Prof. Dr. Md. Shamim Akhter, Director of IQAC and Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department, chaired the workshop and closed it with a vote of thanks.
There were nearly 100 participants including the organizers Dr. S.M. Jahangir Alam Associate Professor and the Head of ICT Department, Dr Irfan Ahmed Associate Professor and the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and Dr. Muhammad Ahasan Habib, Associate Professor and the Head of the Industrial Production Engineering Department.
