Freshers’ Reception – 03/03/2022

On 3rd March 2022, a colorful Freshers’ Reception of the 5th batch of the Department of Civil Engineering was held at Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST) with great fervor and enthusiasm. It was arranged under the auspices of the Students’ Union that did its best to make the function a great success. The Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan was the chief guest at the programme. After the recitation from the Holy Quran, the honorable chief guest inaugurated the function at 3.30 PM.

 

At first, the Department received new faculty members, staff and freshers cordially. After that, Abu Helal, representing the students of the 1st batch, shared with the freshers his experiences in different aspects of his university life. One of the newcomers expressed his feelings and gratitude on behalf of the new students. 

 

Lecturer Md. Izharul Haque Azad, Md. Asaduzzaman, Kh. Shihab Uddin Ahmed and Lab Technician Rabiul Aowal delivered motivational speech addressing the students.

Finally, the chief guest, the Head of the department, Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan delivered his speech to the new faculty members and students focusing on the recent developments of the department including lab facilities, faculty requirements and shared his plan and progress of the department. Though the chief guest encouraged the students to participate in extracurricular activities and enjoy their university life, he strongly advised them not to forget their main responsibility, studying. The chief guest also requested the newly appointed faculty members and staff to always remember their responsibilities, duties and challenges that a newly opened department expects. Finally, he thanked the faculty members, staff and the students who were involved in such a nice arrangement. The programme ended at 5.00 PM.
