Welcome Message from the Department Head

Heartiest welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at BAUST. The Department has started its journey in December 2019 focusing on producing qualified engineers in the Civil Engineering arena needed by the industry, R&D organizations and academic institutions both at home and abroad.

Since its inception, the department is concentrating on continuous development of quality of education through ensuring (i) outcome-based education (OBE) system with upgraded curricula and syllabi, (ii) strict adherence to the guidelines and regulations of the UGC and the BAETE, (iii)  student-centered class environment, (iv) highly qualified faculty members and staffs, (v) sessional classes and research works in state-of-the-art laboratories, (vi) intake of quality students, (vii) continuous monitoring and evaluation of the students with counseling beyond the class hours as deemed necessary, (viii) arrangement of workshops, seminar, conference, etc. on various issues in the relevant field, (ix) participation of students in the extra- and co-curricular activities, (x) collaboration with related industries and other universities.

Following the MOTTO of BAUST, our goals are set as:

i. To convert every individual student into a leader with strong national commitment and significant global perception through providing an excellent educational environment,

ii. To nurture the students to make them compatible for rendering services to the community maintaining discipline and morality.

iii. To create the quest for innovative concepts, designs and techniques in the students that will contribute to the sustainable infrastructural development encompassing environmental concern and make them ambassadors of BAUST.

Being a newly established department, we are confident and determined to reach our goals. We hope to flourish as one of the leading educators in this arena  in the days to come, In Sha Allah.
