The Civil Engineering Department at BAUST made history by hosting its inaugural Truss Bridge Competition on September 21, 2024. Organized by the Civil Engineering Innovation Club (CEIC), the event was a platform for students to showcase their engineering prowess. A total of 13 enthusiastic teams participated, each bringing their uniquely designed truss bridge to the competition. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students combined creativity with technical knowledge to construct bridges capable of bearing impressive loads. Held at 3:30 PM, the event demonstrated the practical application of theoretical concepts learned in the classroom.

The teams were judged on various criteria, including the efficiency and durability of their bridges under stress. As the competition progressed, the increasing load tests pushed the boundaries of what these young engineers had envisioned. This hands-on experience not only tested their structural understanding but also emphasized teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.
