Overview

The present world is seeking to do the best possible use of its limited resources. Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) is that branch of engineering that deals with maximum utilization of our resources. The competitive world market always enforces to produce product better and cheaper within short time period. Industrial engineers help in increasing productivity, reducing cost, better quality, better management etc. They are not oriented to any specific sector rather they can contribute to any sector for better performance. In our country they are successfully performing in garments, textiles, cement, steel, lather, pharmaceuticals and many other different sectors. To meet the demand of industrial engineers, Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST) has started this program in 2016 at undergraduate level. Mission of the Program

• To offer high quality education and knowledge in Industrial and Production Engineering and to be committed to provide a sound modern industrial engineering education, to be engage in creative research activities.
• To provide an educational experience that nurtures industrial engineering professionals known for their solid technical capability, critical thinking skills, ethical values and social responsibility through a rigorous educational experience.
• To serve the society by developing industrial engineering graduates who demonstrates continuous improvement with respect to professional knowledge, responsibility, and advancement by expanding the reasoning, communication and problem solving abilities.
• To immerse leadership qualities amongst the students by integrating combinations of people, information, materials, and equipment that produce innovative and efficient organizations.

The vision of Industrial and Production Engineering department is to provide world-class education, be a model of excellence in research and administrative services in industrial engineering and to prepare students for careers in industry and academia.

PEO-1: Successfully utilize industrial engineering knowledge, skills, and techniques as proficient professionals to solve complex real-world problems.

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Engg. in IPE

Our admission requirements are fully compliant with the rules and regulations of UGC and the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh.

Applicants who have passed HSC/ Alim or equivalent or A level or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply if he/she fulfills the following conditions:

• HSC/ Alim or equivalent examination in Science Group with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (with additional subject). The total GPA of SSC/Dakhil or equivalent and HSC/ Alim or equivalent should be at least 7.0 (with additional subjects).

• GCE applicants at A-Level with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Functional English must have GPA 3.0. The total GPA of GCE O-Level and A-Level should be at least 6.0. However, the candidate must not have any F grade in any subject of both levels.

**Applicants who have obtained a total GPA of 9.0 or more in HSC/ Alim or equivalent and SSC/ Dakhil or equivalent examination are eligible for direct admission (without Admission Test).
